Mirror is an AI-powered identity exploration tool created by Eric Wu. It guides users through a structured conversation and generates a personal identity portrait. Mirror is provided for personal, non-commercial self-reflection purposes.
Mirror is intended for adults aged 18 and over. By using Mirror you agree to engage with it in good faith for the purpose of personal identity exploration. Mirror is not a substitute for professional mental health, medical, or legal advice.
Mirror is designed to stay focused on personal identity exploration. It will redirect conversations that stray into unrelated topics. Use of Mirror to generate harmful, abusive, or deceptive content is prohibited.
Personal use only. Use of Mirror is permitted for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Commercial use — including but not limited to reselling, relicensing, incorporating Mirror into a product or service, or using Mirror-generated content for commercial gain — is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from Eric Wu.
Your conversation is never stored on any server. Everything you share in Mirror lives only in your browser — when you leave, it's gone. However, to function, Mirror sends your data to the following third-party services:
Eric Wu does not receive the content of your conversation. Payment records (amount, date) may be retained by Stripe for tax and legal purposes.
As of June 2026, none of these providers use your conversation data to train their models via the API by default.
Access code usage & KV storage — Mirror stores per-code usage data (number of sessions, portraits generated, and similar counters) in Cloudflare KV, a server-side key-value store. Your name, if entered at the start of a session, may also be stored alongside your access code's usage record. This data is used solely for administrative purposes — to manage access, review usage, and personalize notification emails sent to Eric Wu. It is not shared with third parties and is not connected to your conversation content.
In plain terms: Mirror tracks how many times your access code has been used. Your name, if you entered one, may be stored alongside that count for administrative purposes only. This data is never connected to your conversation content and is not shared with anyone.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. Mirror does not sell personal information.
Because Mirror does not store conversation data, deletion requests for conversation content should be directed to the applicable third-party processors listed above. For any other privacy requests, contact novawu2050@gmail.com. Requests must include enough information to identify a specific session in order to fulfill their request.
If you believe your email address or name was recorded in an administrative access log and you wish to request deletion, contact novawu2050@gmail.com.
Mirror is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The portraits generated by Mirror are AI-produced reflections based on what you share — they are not clinical assessments, professional advice, or definitive statements about your identity. Use your own judgment in interpreting them.

Mirror is a guided conversation about identity. You talk. Mirror listens, reflects, and asks one focused question at a time. At the end, Mirror synthesizes everything you've shared into a detailed written portrait — a structured, thoughtful document that reflects what you said back to you in a form you can keep.
It's not therapy. It's not coaching. It's a mirror — in the oldest sense of the word. A space to see yourself clearly.
Know thyself. The instruction is ancient, and the difficulty is just as old. Most of us carry a rough sense of who we are — shaped by habit, circumstance, and what other people have reflected back at us. What we rarely have is a quiet, structured opportunity to examine it.
Mirror was built on the belief that the right questions, asked in the right sequence, can surface things you already know but haven't yet articulated. The portrait isn't a diagnosis. It's a starting point — a document you can return to, argue with, refine.
Mirror runs on Claude, Anthropic's AI model, accessed through a direct API connection. Your conversation is used only to generate your portrait — it is not stored, shared, or used for training. Voice mode adds OpenAI's Whisper for transcription and ElevenLabs for spoken responses. Payments, if any, are handled by Stripe.
Mirror guides you through a structured conversation, then synthesizes what you shared into a detailed written portrait. The conversation adapts to you — following threads that matter, going deeper where it counts. Set aside 20–40 minutes for an uninterrupted session.
Mirror was built by Eric Wu — sourcing professional, appellate advocacy professor, convention organizer, ultramarathoner, and lifelong student of Chinese philosophy and culture. He built Mirror as a personal project, rooted in a longstanding interest in identity, self-knowledge, and the intersection of technology and human meaning-making.

Built and developed with Claude. Casual programmer trying to leave things a little better than I found them — but not always when I occasionally test in prod.
